California fires raging

news, health and lifestyle — by TDavid @ 10:41 am PST

More than 1100 homes and 17 people have lost their lives in several fires raging (linkrot: wishtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=1499715) around southern California. Oregon is joining (linkrot: news.statesmanjournal.com/article.cfm?i=69837) the firefighting efforts. We need to put these brave firefighters in our thoughts today.

Blogging the California fires:
- Don Park shares a picture taken from space . Eerie-looking, isn’t it?
- Locotes has another post, but bigger picture (linkrot: www.20six.co.uk/weblogEntry/155f8fx4w4h3k)
- Andreas thinks the fires are “Natures way of keeping everything in balance”
- elaine reports weather conditions in LA: smoke (linkrot: 404 eraine.net/blog/archives/000353.html)
- Steve is preparing for voluntary evacuation in Big Bear Lake (linkrot: 404 www.capgun.tv/blog/archives/000067.html)
- Several pictures of the smoky sky taken by Jason (linkrot: jason.blogging.la/archives/000147.phtml)

Quit smoking with new Laffy Taffy

health and lifestyle — by TDavid @ 10:07 pm PST

Ok, I’ll admit I’m more than a bit of a candy-holic. It’s fallout from when I quit smoking many moons ago. This new Laffy Taffy is pretty yummy! One flavor on the outside, another on the inside, sort of like a Rainbow soda. That sweet nicotine is something I never could get over. I wonder what other quit smoking techniques (create you own quit plan) and tips other people have tried?

Our youngest son has his first football game tomorrow. His number? “1″ We’ll be there with camera to capture the moment. Check our moblog [9/10/07 8:52am PST: Textamerica linkrot] tomorrow for live updates from the game, assuming we are in a wireless zone of course.

Mood necklaces and rings

health and lifestyle — by TDavid @ 4:30 pm PST

I’ve always thought these mood necklaces and rings were groovy (is that so 70’s?) and when Kara came home the other day sporting one around her neck I said, “hey, what about me?” and she responded with saying she almost got me one but wasn’t sure if I’d like it. There is a festival in town today that she took our youngest to and she said she was going to the dollar store to get me one. Right on. So do you believe that these things can actually measure your mood?

Man blogging about results of penis enlargment pills

health and lifestyle, blogs and podcasting — by TDavid @ 9:24 am PST

Thanks to Jeremy for linking up this guy who is blogging about his experience taking penis enlargement pills. I was just telling a friend yesterday that you can pretty much blog about anything. The man says it isn’t spam, though he does admit using his affiliate link (wise move). Yes, he says he’s just an average guy from New York with a penis that is 5 1/2 inches and he would like it larger. Blogging ideas are everywhere: I think I just might start a blog about all the spam I receive every day.

UF study on cybersex, chatrooms and marriage

chat, health and lifestyle — by TDavid @ 3:00 am PST

I read about this study (source: UF study: Web is safe space for cyber affairs) and have heard this before that chatrooms were a haven for secret affairs. I’ve seen and read the raging online debate whether cybersex was cheating or not. There are lots of secrets that people in marriages keep from each other and that is the kind of stuff that needs to be opened up, in my opinion. What people in marriage should ask themselves is what they can do for their partner, what turns their partner on. It’s not get married and get bored with each other and look elsewhere for sex. I think the problem with divorce is that people don’t get in with the attitude that they are going to keep the lines of communication wide open.

Hmmm, time for me to go to bed as the Blogathon 2003 starts in just 5 hours! ;) I will be writing what the plans are when I wake up. Looks like I will not be having a full 8 hours sleep. That should make things interesting …
