I have to say that there is no such thing as too much action. What I didn't like about the movie though was the two retarded "twin" robots. IMO, that totally "Jar Jar Binks'd" it for me.

I'm wondering if we should be expecting some of the same stuff when GI Joe comes out later this summer. Shall we just make a review on the preview and save the money and time. You could offer us a compare and contrast between the previews of Transformers and GI Joe

I haven't been to a movie in over a year, except for 1 at the budget seats. $9/ticket is getting a bit too pricey for me. But this one I had to see on the big screen.

I felt it was a bit long also. Thankfully the action kept me awake. Often times during the fights, the "camera" was too close and I couldn't make out who was who, and what they were punching.

The biggest disappointment was the twins. I understand they needed the characters to take the story where it went. But the whole Jar Jar Binks business was plain insulting. All the urban reach to get a laugh turned stupid.

I myself didn't dislike it as much as you. I would give it a C+.

Maybe you'll say I'm a generational elitist, but there's a huge lack of appreciation for quality movies with the Generation Y crowd. They're overly-impressed with flashy CG, explosions, and hot babes. I often hear comments from my Gen Y buds like, "That movie wasn't too bad." or "It wasn't as bad as I expected." Think about that for a sec - these guys anticipated - expected - that the movie would suck, yet they still piddled their hard-earned cash on going to the theater to watch it.

It's that kind of undiscriminating, blind consumerism that feeds the Michael Bays, Jerry Bruckheimers, & McGs (what kind of snot-nosed director can't be bothered to use his whole name anyway?) of the world. I refuse to give my money to hacks who mine the lowest common-denominator with movies that feature only big tits, big explosions, and big eye-candy. I enjoy fun movies too, but I demand a bit more than the tripe that we're mostly getting these days.

One of my friends called this the "best movie ever made", and I seriously slapped him right across the face. It's pitiful.

You've illustrated a point I was making to some colleagues a few weeks ago - the only potentially redeeming thing about Transformers 2 is jiggly Megan Fox and you can find loads of incredible pictures of her airbrushed self with Google for free.

Michael Bay picks up exactly where Jerry Bruckheimer leaves off - mindless CG fluff and and an almost complete lack of substance. I like eye-candy as much - if not more - than most, but I've gotta have some actual storytelling along with it. And none of that faux-plot crap that George Lucas is dishing out these days, taking a page from the J.J. Abrams playbook to introduce hyper-complicated subplots to compensate for massive semi-truck-sized holes in the main story line. No sir, I need actual stories with characters I can really give a crap about (or truly despise, respectively).

I have not seen the movie yet and don't think I will bother, but have you noticed Megan's Adams Apple? Every time I see photos of her, or interviews, I think wow, she is beautiful, but then I notice this huge Adam's apple and it is really off putting.
