cinnamon rolls

My wife just brought me some fresh baked cinnamon rolls. A quick Hmm search revealed I’ve never written about cinnamon rolls before. In 5+ years nary a word said about one of my favorite breakfast-time desserts? Sacrilege!

Cinnamon rolls are best with a tall glass of cool milk. Any other cinnamon roll fans reading? If you don’t like cinnamon rolls, what other dessert catches your sweet tooth?

The picture is a bit blurry, BTW, because my growling stomach was shaking the camera ;)

  1. I’ve always been a fan of the pillsbury canroll cinnamon rolls. Not sure why, but I even prefer them to most homemade rolls I’ve had.

  2. Those will work too. Any Cinnebons in your area?

  3. Not that I’m aware of. I think there may be one in Fargo, but that’s 100 miles east of here. Otherwise, best bet might be Minneapolis.

  4. I tell myself that cinnamon’s ability to help regulate blood sugar levels outweigh the sugar’s impact on my body…..hollow promises for the scant times I allow myself the treat. Best when warm.

  6. OMG - I just gained two pounds. Have you ever made them with orange icing? Whole new experience!

  7. Damn, those look good. I, too, am a fan of the Pillsbury kind. If any of you ever get to Chicago, be sure to visit Ann Sather’s for breakfast. You’ll never know what hit you.

  8. Cinnamon rolls with walnuts and raisins rolled in, were our childhood breakfast / brunch for Easter and Christmas. Now I am more into pumpkin pie and cheesecake. Or, even better, pumpkin pie cheesecake. I put my favorite recipe online. Although it is a humor column, the actual recipe tastes delicious (with the funny parts removed):

  9. Pumpkin and cheesecake, David? I’m open to trying different foods but those two don’t work for me.

  10. I would do terrible, unspeakable things for a cinnamon roll right now.
