For those shopping for others or wanting to add to their CD collection, this might be a good time to check your nearest Borders. I’m more likely to buy CDs at retail stores if the price is under $12, since I can buy through AmazonMP3 without the artwork and pre-ripped to MP3 for $8.99. I’ll pay much more for CDs like with the new Rush CD if it is a special collector edition or if it’s a rare CD.

Fred Meyer has been running out a bunch of AC DC CDs at $9.99 and Wal-mart has been having some really good CD prices for various artists, so Borders isn’t the only store running special deals on CDs. Have you seen any good retail store CD sales? Please share below and be sure to include the date.
