That dude from mean venus aint opening for nobody. He died 6 months ago from heroin. I heard that was one of the reasons that Plant isn't doing the tour too. After this Krauss b.s. he is done. Really ashame the Zep guys can't honor Plant's decision and understand that losing your son to heroin is something that most people never emotionally come back from.

RIP J

MEAN VENUS ruled!!!

I was born in '77, so obviously never have experienced these guys live. I would LOVE the chance! They have so many 'new' fans from younger generations that wanna know what they missed out on!!

Who will Led Zeppelin have as an opening act on their 2008 US tour???
The rumors have finally been silenced: Plant has personally tapped his illegitimate son's band--MEAN VENUS--to open all 2008 shows.
MEAN VENUS' lead singer, J, when recently interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine, spoke of his utter disbelief at the prospect:
"I only found out he [Plant] was my dad a few years ago.
My mum hid it from me for the majority of my life. So to actually be going on the road with my Dad is bloody outrageous!".....

It's a very nice thing to do for Ahmet's charity. You'll find no bigger Zep fan than me, but I have to say that Jimmy's not the player he has been and Robert's vocals are much reduced from his earlier range. That said, Zep live can still kick anyone's ass. I'd love to see Jonesy back at stage left working his magic. Haven't seen that since '77. These guys love the stage and a full tour should not be ruled out but Plant's recent success may prevent that. Great to see Bonzo Jr. locked in too. I hope they do a nice job recording the show for dvd!

The amount the ticekts could go far is unimaginable. I could easily see sell out after sell out at $500-1000/ticket.

Well two things in my opinion. They can always use more money, and it would be HUGE money for the tour. Their children could use the money in the estate.

As far as John's boy doing a good job on the drums, I saw him play in London once and he is an AMAZING drummer. No problem.

I agree on paying more to see them than anyone else... Of course their concerts are legendary 3 hour no break marathons and THAT could be the "real" reason they would never do a tour... (age does limit some things after all)

With their tunes in car commercials and still playing on radio and still selling they probably don't need the cash....
