Nope, never said it would break Titanic, just said (paraphrasing) that it could be a legitimate threat and after seeing it, I still think that's the case. I'm just finishing up my actual review post for the movie including my grade. More thoughts there shortly.

Just realized that you never actually said it would, did you?
I should go back and read posts a second time before I start commenting further on them.
I blame it on Sunday!

I'll give you that it breaks 750 worldwide, but that still not quite half of Titanic's worldwide gross.
BTW, I did not even catch Titanic in the theater a first time and have only ever watched it once...just so you know that I'm not some sort of Titanic super-fan.
Hehe

Hi Wayne - we caught The Simpsons Movie on Friday night too. The theater was about 75% full. You're right that it doesn't break enough new ground but it's getting good reviews at Rotten Tomatoes. In our area it wasn't even showing at the nicest theaters which put me off somewhat (why?!?!). Harry Potter, Transformers and the new Sandler movie were eating up too many screens, I guess.

As for sales? I'm sticking by my original prediction (linked above): "I will be surprised if The Simpsons makes less than 750 million worldwide."

Would I pay to go see it again in the theater? Doubtful, although one reviewer makes the good point that in order to catch every joke it requires multiple viewings. The same can be said of the TV show which means there will be some cash register ringings for that reason alone.

I didn't see Titanic a second time either in the theater though. It's extremely rare that I'll pay to see a movie in the theater twice these days. I'll bet buying it on Blu-Ray, HD-DVD (if we have the player) or DVD when it comes out depending on price difference between the formats.

Saw the movie today with my daughters and we all enjoyed it.

I don't know that it will end up sinking Titanic's record though. I consider myself a HUGE Simpsons fan and don't see myself paying to see it again. It just doesn't feel like it breaks enough new ground to warrant repeated theater viewings.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut showed how to take an animated show and really take advantage of the theater experience...and not just because of the "R" language.

Ralph is my favorite secondary character due to his constant randomness and lack of any concept of reality.
"Me fail English? That's unpossible!"
