I bought the whole package some time ago and just now began trying to use it. Video-Converter: Trying to convert multiple video files (.mov) to DVD. Wanted to add simple fade-in/fade-outs, perhaps titles and chapters. No way! I followed every section of help tools (separate download) but the program just does not do what they say it will do! Lost many hours of work because they don't even provide a way to save your work. (video-converter) Went ahead and converted .MOV files to DVD and burned to disc only to find it absolutely would not play on AVS DVD Player program but will play on a DVD player! I am livid! No real support. All canned responses. I was RIPPED OFF! DON'T BUY THIS CRAP PROGRAM!!!

I got the converter to convert VOB (DVD) files to AVI files to use in MS Moviemaker 6. The VOB files that I got where from a DVD of my daughter's wedding last year. The program and interface looks good and the first conversion I did seemed to work OK except for one problem. Normally AVI files, from my Sony video camera source, show a "picture" when saved and then imported into Moviemaker and can be "pulled" down into the timeline bar to edit. In this case the converted file only showed the word "AVI" but no picture and would not pull down to the timeline but only to the audio bar. When I tried to play the AVI files I only got audio - no video! I suspect that it was a mistake in the AVI profile setup for converting an AVI file - I assumed that the AVI profile was a default! It showed the profile as HD Video, MP3 sound, etc. and I thought that was OK but obviously not! Can anyone help me please? - I want to use MS Moviemaker to collect the AVI files so that I can edit them to produce a DVD as I've done many times before with other AVI files. As a video conversion "neophyte" I suspect that there is a particular AVI profile for this so any help would be very much appreciated.

So far I've tried in on two different PCs. Get nothing but lockups. Also this software doesn't seem to know how to recover from errors and lockups. Have to restart process every time after it crashes. Wasted too much time and made too made coasters. Glad I didn't buy full version.

I have been trying to ask a simple question of these people for 3 days with no responce. All I wanted to know was can I purchase the software on disk. No answer. I guess if they can't take to the time to answer one simple question they may not take much time to help others with software problems. I don't have money just to throw away.

I purchased ver 5 of Media Tools, and was quite satisfied. However, when I reformatted my HD and reinstalled the registration codes no longer worked. I contacted them and they "reactivated" my codes. (Why were they deactivated?) The software worked for two days, and again today it says that my LEGIT codes are invalid and they failed to register my software.

I have looked at SUPER and Prism for Video Conversion (both free). I am sure I can find FREE alternatives to the other items.

Sheesh! I was just about to upgrade to version 6 with the lifetime subscription!
I wonder if I will now? Duh!

Hi

THeir help is HORRIBLE.

Asked twice on how to remove the unsightly watermark AFTER paying, they still send a brochure selling the product.

Is their help in Kazakhastan?

No phone number provided even after you pay?

That is ridiculous.

Any help appreciated

Dear, *Bob Nelson*/*JL*/*P* (I hope the date of your 3 posts may catch somebody's else eye)
First Sorry for my English, my native is flemish Dutch.

I hope your prejudication has a reason ($29?)
Have tried AVS DVD Authoring (Creating MENU for my home videos) find it excelent. ( Before had to pay for creating menu for my disc collection 3 euro every disc)
Video to Flash.... Did you try it?
Sorry but now I can convert to flv or swf (to download the software to web use other software... but nothing free can convert to those flash format)

2Nancy:
The main reason for my choose is work with menu but Converter find a good programme

2Author of review:
Sorry but did you purchase the SW? Did you realy use it to write so long review? ;)

2ALL make your choice
first answer from support to me was:

Please, note, that the trial version is totally functional and the only limitation is
our logo which will be placed on all output videos.
So if you like it, you buy the licence, if not - just uninstall it.
As simple as that.

Actually I can not say that all I have read is true.
I am a registered user of avs4you.com and have tried almost all programs from the site. I like the way they act-you pay only once and can take every program you need!
Have you even seen Video Converter6? WOW!!!it is cool
And the best way to solve problems is to contact their support. I have done this several times. Really it can take more than 48 ours sometimes but...People!!!it costs only 29$. I really can wait a little bit
And these people really know what they say!
They helped me out with my iPod. I wasn't able to play the iPod video on my car's radio. They say I have to save the file not as movie, but as music video. And it works great! My friend is also using avs and he is also happy with it

Looks like this "dream offer" is just that: a dream. Thanks for publishing the review and comments - it appears to have saved me at least $29.
