Behind the Hmmcast
Only video from two cameras was used in today’s Hmmcast, can you guess which cameras were used? Most pictures at Hmm these days and some of the Hmmcasts have been shot (almost all outside video) with the Kodak camera. The video files are converted to AVI using Quicktime Pro and pictures are edited, cropped and compressed using Adobe Photoshop.
Have a question you’d like answered on a future, Hmmcast? Just ask in the comments below, youhmm never know!

Thanks for the reply! It seems like your Samsung and Kodak are the 2 heavily used, but I never thought you had 4 floating about. I was thinking about doing some video rambles on my site, but for ease of editing I was just going to use the built in camera in my MacBook Pro. I’ve recently been using mac, so it’s a whole new world. I noticed you prefer Google video to YouTube. Any special reason for that?
Thanks for the shout out- most people miss my phonetics, but Mikull was just a funny way of spelling my real name, “Michael”. I know, silly…

Being owned by the same company (Google Video + YouTube) you’d think it wouldn’t really make a difference would you? Still I prefer Google Video primarily because of the permalinks feature. The Google video layout and management is cleaner than YouTube too although the service is substantially less popular. I have uploaded some of the Hmmcasts to YouTube and will continue using them and trying other third party video services into the future.
Personally I consider the first party download (via paid Libsyn hosting) the primary Hmmcast video service and sort of treat the other video channels as secondary/additional publishing avenues.
