What the first person to buy Vista will say |
“I will be able to play solitaire and send faxes at the same time.”
Those were the reported words of Jonathan Prentice, a college student in New Zealand who was the first person to buy Windows 95, writes Todd Bishop. Interesting that in 1995 a game was one of the two most compelling reasons to buy Windows 95.
With Vista’s retail release coming this Tuesday 1/30/07 I wonder what the first person to buy Vista will say? Here’s a few possibilities:
- “I will still be able to play Solitaire and send faxes at the same time.”
- “I sure hope this OS is more stable and less prone to security vulnerabilities.”
- “Now I can finally see what all this Tablet PC and Media Center stuff is about.”
- “You’ll find me in a few days at the bar after upgrading Windows XP”
- “I will also be the first person to replace Vista with Linux.”
First person to buy Vista definitely won’t be me, since I’m nowhere near New Zealand where the timezone turns earliest. What will I say when I buy Vista? Next week we’ll both find out.
What do you think the first person to buy Vista will say?

i think they might say ‘leave me alone, i came here to upgrade my OS, not give an interview, why should you care anyway?’
with an australasian accent, obviously
