Get FREE Office 2007 downloadable Ready to launch 2007 meeting in the US

The following opportunity will undoubtedly be easier than watching videos from overburdened Microsoft servers just to get a free access code to download Office 2007 Professional and Office Groove 2007 (thanks Lester). This will require your time and travel to a Ready for a New Launch 2007 meeting where you’ll need to sit through several likely boring product overviews breakout events and a standard Microsoft rah-rah speech executive keynote. A link along the right hand side of the official website opens a PDF file with the full agenda (PDF) which in our area offers two sessions, one that runs from 8-noon (checkout begins at 7am) and another from 1-5 (checkout begins at noon).

Here’s what you need to do, fellow US residents (readers outside the US, feel free to link in the comments below if there are similar offers in your countries):

1. Visit the Ready for a New Launch 2007 meeting official website.
2. Click the orange “Find an Event” link on the right side. Note, it’s a Flash menu (grrr) so people can’t link directly to the map, but I can show you what it looks like:

Finding a Ready to launch 2007 meeting in the US

The map looks a bit deceptive like there are only events on the east coast, but when I clicked near Seattle on the map I found the event with two different tracks (morning and afternoon) will be held in Seattle on Monday February 26, 2007. The afternoon track appeals to me because I can get in and get get out early, however, a morning commute from the south side to Seattle is not pretty. Neither is driving home from Seattle. Is it worth your time to get a FREE access code for downloading Office Professional 2007 and Office Groove 2007? I’m willing to attend a half day meeting and get a download code in exchange for my time to listen. I’m going to see if a friend or my wife wants to go with me.

Limited space
At the Ready to Launch for Visual Studio 2005 event, there were thousands in attendance, so might not want to wait too long to see what’s happening in your area.

  1. Go to the morning session and then the afternoon session and get two copies.

Did you get the email about the powertogether freebies? You should have by now.

I went to the Office XP launch and it was good. I’m sure the full day events will be better, but the half day ones are probably pretty good too.
