YouTube adds record directly in browser feature via Flash |
A post by that stoic, strange vlogger Loren over 1938 Media alerted me to some new YouTube features, particularly one which allows Youtubers to record video directly in their browser a la Grouper. I tried the feature out with my new IM Pro camera below:
The lighting is too bright and I probably shouldn’t have used the theater motiff, but quality issues aside from this admittedly quick test post took a little over an hour from recording and pressing the done button before I could review it on the YouTube site. I wish they offered a review button before you said you were done. If they did, I sure missed that feature. An hour seems like too long to wait. Hopefully they’ll improve this recorded to display time.
I believe this is the first Google-inspired upgrade to YouTube, isn’t it?
And back to Loren Feldman for a second and why I think he’s pretty out there. Yesterday he’s ranting about women needing pubic hair and today he’s saying Sirius and XM are dead. Unpredictable and entertaining. Those are important qualities for a video bloggers trying to make names for themselves. I don’t agree with Loren’s views on things all the time but his delivery is interesting and he does it with short commercial-length posts which is key.
Did this post make you go hmm?

Thanks for the compliments, and yes I’m very out there.

I think Lauren Feldman is a a really good comic actor.
Right after he said he “should get Samsonite to sponsor these things” (his eyebags), he relaxed his facial muscles and made the eyebags disappear. Then they came back.
He’s right. The vidiots at YouTube and Renetto are psycho.

I don’t think everybody gets this guy but Podtech sure did. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.
