I'm so suspicious of the special features bait-and-switch that I'm hesitant to buy any DVD that hasn't been out for at least a year, and I've completely given up on buying Network TVDs prior to their compilation after the slim-line X-Files and the Buffy-box came out. I will totally be on the hunt for the $30 Alien box this weekend, as I've been coveting it since release. TD, I’m totally with you. I'm interested but not that much in Pirates. I bought all the Star Wars as they came out and then the trilogy so I've definitely done this with some series based movies in the past. I'd rather spend $2-4 and rent these and then spend the $30-40 when it comes out as a massive feature packed trilogy set and probably with some cool packaging to boot. Gotta admit though that it sucks when you buy these when they come out and then a year later you seen an even better special collector's edition come out. The same thing was done with the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Did I buy them all? Of course! Am I going to buy all the Pirates movies? Already bought number 2, will buy number 3 and most likely the extended versions too... Heck it's only money.... and at 14.99 a pop when they first come out it's well worth it for quality entertainment... It’s a matter of perspective.
