[...] The following opportunity will undoubtedly be easier than watching videos from overburdened Microsoft servers just to get a free access code to download Office 2007 Professional and Office Groove 2007 (thanks Lester). This will require your time and travel to a Ready for a New Launch 2007 meeting where you’ll need to sit through several likely boring product overviews breakout events and a standard Microsoft rah-rah speech executive keynote. A link along the right hand side of the official website opens a PDF file with the full agenda (PDF) that runs from 8-noon (checkout begins at 7am) or 1-5 (checkout begins at noon).
[...] Sweet. Toward the end of November, Microsoft had an offer to get a free copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional and/or Microsoft Windows Visa Business. I registered and signed up for the videos, but it was right after Thanksgiving week and had exams and homework. By time I got around to actually watching the videos, the site said they were all out, unless you already signed up. I crossed my fingers. I got this email yesterday: Dear Andrew: [...]

[...] It’s funny, earlier today on the way to lunch I was telling Kara that I’ve decided not to buy Office 2007 when it comes out at the end of this month, and then I get home and see the article mentioned below. We didn’t buy Office 2003 either, instead receiving multiple copies in exchange for beta testing Microsoft products at Redmond headquarters, and that’s how we’re planning on getting Office 2007. In fact, already one license is in the hopper for watching some Microsoft videos. [...]

I did some yesterday morning. 2 of the 3 are now completed, the 3rd is still pending. Check again.

It also appears that if you signed up and choose a 'gift' while they were available, you can still get the gift if you complete the videos in the 30 day period.

The website seems reasonably well behaved this morning.

I'd be real curious to find out how many copies they allocated and how many people signed up.

On a different (but related) note, if you were a beta tester for Vista and reported a bug, they sent out the link to get the keys for the free copy yesterday.

So is the office offer. I don't know if that means they had enough people complete the videos and are getting the stuff, or there have been enough people registered that can potentially get all the stuff.
