FWIW, Debian Linux runs great on my AMD K6 300Mhz with 192MB. I'm thinking it would still do quite well on 128MB.

I buy all of my parts from Directron (http://www.directron.com). A search for PC133 SDRAM returns a bunch of results.

Something seems messed up about SDRAM being more expensive than DDR, lol. Thanks for the tips, darkmoon.

I've actually never had any issues with the Google Checkout $10 off thing. Nor with Buy.com. I purchase from them every month or other month for something or another.

As far as SDRAM, man.... good luck on that. I've looked on eBay and everywhere else to find something compatible with a Pavilion 855XT or something like that. They cost more than twice a 1G DDR. I personally waited until Crucial/Kingston had a sale and raided their online store. Maybe they have something going on there.

As far as linux is concerned, I run Debian with minimum X with fluxbox. It manages the load quite nicely on a Celeron 333 Sony Vaio (192M ram). The surfing is still quite slow, but I can't really complain too much since I've optimized it pretty much to a hilt except kernel recompile. Even have boot up down to like 30-40 seconds.

It may be worth it to brave the Buy.com route again as they are actually offering $20 off $50 also.
I've placed quite a few orders from them in the last few weeks (50-60% of my total Christmas shopping actually) and have received everything without any errors.
Good luck!
