Borrowed the photos from the Sony PS3 local launch day availability post. As planned, we went out early this morning attempting to buy the Nintendo Wii on launch day. Our first stop was Fred Meyer and while they had 90 come in, they had over 200 people waiting. Forget about it.

Costco? No.

Target? No. Their PS3 section looked like a tornado had blown through it.

Circuit City? No.

Wal-Mart? No.

Toys ‘R Us? After waiting about an hour this morning in the wind and rain before the store opened, they came out and gave Kara and I a ticket. Made us both feel like we’d just received Willy Wonka’s golden ticket.

We’re home and dry now. I’ll have more later as we get the Wii unboxed.
