Nevermind hardcore gamers, I feel sorry for parents shopping for a PS3 for kids in 2006. Kevlar is apparently needed in some area to avoid a fight at the PS3 corral:

I’ve always looked at launch days as a figurative safari, but if this keeps up I might need to go out armed and gamegerous.

Enough fooling around, what did I find out there this morning in the Puyallup, Washington USA area when I went from store to store in search of a PS3 on launch day? Best Buy at the best PS3 gaming selection I saw, but forget about any systems. Those were gone before the doors even opened.

Costco? No.

Toys ‘R Us? No.

Target? No. Their PS3 section looked like a tornado had blown through it.

Circuit City? No.

Wal-Mart? No.

Pretty much an expedition in burning gas and time. I like the look of the cloudy sky, as if to taunt all the regular Joe’s out there who were foolish enough to think they might actually have a chance at buying a PS3 on launch day.

Any readers bag a PS3 yet? Go ahead and make me envious in the comments below. I’ll be out on another Safari on Sunday morning for the Nintendo Wii. I think I’ll have a little better chance there, but who knows, I might go double goose eggs. Sure hope I don’t run into any gun-toting Wii degenerates. It’s just a game system, people, chill.
