Cinematical’s 007 day Bond-age fetish |

With the upcoming James Bond movie Casino Royale this Friday, Cinematical is running a 7 days of Bond special on their blog. Today’s entry includes a Youtube collection of every Bond movie trailer. 45 years of Bond action.
Last week Cinematical posed the immortal Bond question: who is the best James Bond? My money is on Sean Connery, followed by Roger Moore. Remember Jaws, the metal-mouthed baddie? Pierce Brosnan was ok, although I think during his era some of the stunts went too over the top. I’d like to forget the whole Timothy Dalton period. How will the new Bond, Daniel Craig, fare? Back in March, I wrote that Craig seemed a little too sailor-looking to be Bond, but I’m still holding out until seeing him in the movie to see if he lives up to the character and does Ian Fleming proud.

Planning on catching Casino Royale in the theaters or waiting for it on DVD?
Did this post make you go hmm?

My money is on Sean Connery. He always fit into the role very well and in my opinion was a bit better looking than Roger Moore. Pierce Brosnan was okay, but the scripts were just terribly cheesy. Especially the one with Halle Berry. Sheesh… almost made me want to puke, how bad that was.
I’m hoping that they got better script writers this time for Daniel Craig’s Bond.
It’s interesting that people don’t really know about the old stuff like “Her Majesty’s Secret Service” where Bond gets married, and Casino Royale (1967) where it’s a spoof film on Bond, on him coming out of retirement.

Although Connery was very impressive as Bond…I putting my money on Craig as an awesome contender….From the trailer and clips I have seen so far he does a phenomenal job, not to mention how incredibly handsome he is! I guess we all jut have to wait till Friday and go see it to really judge!….Can’t wait!

Bah, Craig is alright as an action hero I guess but Bond? Where’s the suave smile. The trailer shows him more as a pissed off “I’m gonna kick your butt” kind of guy. That’s not Bond. James Bond smiles slyly and winks at the babes. He’s smooth. This new guy doesn’t seem anything like the Bond character. But maybe a new style is needed to keep this franchise afloat.
My favorite is actually Pierce Brosnan. He fit the character perfectly in my mind. Sean Connery…well he just looked goofy when he was young, in my opinion. Roger Moore is my second favorite.

1. Connery is my favorite Bond. But, Dalton seems more in line with the Bond depicted in the novels. The Moore movies trashed the character. Brosnan’s were in between.
2. I’ll wait for the new flick to come out on DVD. Going to the movies is a pain.
3. Just finished reading Casino Royale a few weeks ago. The Bond in that book is hardly a hero. Just a spook doing a hard job.
