Ok, another Flickrish service without the ‘e’ called Anothr which allows Skypers to receive RSS updates via Skype. Nothing to download or install, simply add anothr.com to your Skype list and then add the feeds you would like to get updates on by typing in the Skype chat to anothr.com:

RSS + [FEED URL]

Replace [FEED URL] with the RSS feed URL. Then when RSS updates come in you’ll see the title, permalink and includes roughly the first 50 words:

How long does it take for updates to arrive? I am testing with this post and will update as soon as I’m notified.

Update 9:25am PST: published at 9:17pm PST, received a Skype message at … 9:24, a total of 7 minutes from publish to being notified, not bad. I could see this getting annoying with a lot of feeds or a feed that updates frequently, but if there is something you want to track passively and you are logged in 24/7 with Skype, this could come in handy.
