Making an office out of a storage room |

Yesterday I spent most the day converting a storage closet into a makeshift office inside a real estate office for our online businesss KMR Enterprises. The phone company brought in a phone line and DSL and were able to use an existing jack and not even charge us for installing a new jack. Pictured above you’ll see what the room was like after being cleaned out.

A single moonlight-style window sits far up toward the ceiling letting the sun peek through in the late afternoon.

I moved in everything seen in the picture by myself, including the desk. I was a bit surprised the desk made it in the doorway. On the end of the desk there is room for a chair. With me sitting in a chair in the desk, it’s a tight fit with not much lean back room, but it’s not too claustrophobic.

I went through a period after our baby was born where I turned a big walk in closet into an office. Was fun at first but didn’t work out. The ventilation was terrible - got very hot in the summer. Then when I stopped using the room for a while it got filled up with 6 feet of junk. (can barely hang up my clothes).
Hope you have better luck.
