Owen Lafave was on the Stern show this morning pitching his new book, Gorgeous Disaster, and talking about what it was like being the husband of 24 year old hottie Debra Lafave who had sex with one of her students in the 8th grade. As written about clear back in July 2004, Debra’s looks bought her probation and house arrest.

The Amazon reviews (affiliate) for the book so far point out a major missed opportunity: pictures! Waxen Wayne writes:

He tells the reader that Debra engaged in questionable behavior, seemed moody, unstable and was enmeshed in her relationship with her mother and yet he was drawn to marry her because of her exquisite beauty. She was a trophy wife who disaapointed him in spades. I’m sure Mr Lafave feels that garnering a place as an “expert” on child/teacher sexual relationships might be healing for him, but he is out of his depth. He’s committed his side of the story to print;it is time he cut his losses and returned completely to that field for which he trained.

From Stern’s interview, Owen seems like a pretty good guy caught up in an utterly humiliating situation, not some bitter ex-husband wanting to grind an axe. For the guy readers out there can you imagine what it would be like having your smoking teacher wife going at it in your house with one of her underage students? With Halloween month upon us, those thoughts give me chills.

Here in Washington state, we’ve got another hot for teacher incident with the whole Mary K. Letourneau and student Vili Fualaau who made her pregnant and would later marry after she got out of prison. Although I didn’t think Mary K. Letourneau was hot, her student-turned-husband Vili would probably disagree.

I don’t remember having any hot teachers in school, how about you? Our kids have had maybe one teacher I can think of that was close to hot. This teacher dressed conservatively and professionally. With all the raging hormones, probably a good idea to keep the hot teachers in college and out of middle school and high school.
