17 new Google Spreadsheets features |
Good news for Google Spreadsheets users via the official Google blog (disclaimer: I own GOOG stock). Google has been listening to the feedback in the Spreadsheet groups area and has released an update with 17 (assuming my count is correct) new/updated features which include:
- anyone can view option
- access to Google contact list through Spreadsheets for inviting to edit a spreadsheet collaboratively
- export to PDF
- open document support option
- multi-line text in cells
- merge multiple groups of cells at the same time
- larger file import sizes
Complete new feature list here. Also see Google Spreadsheets Hmm review.
Our VTOR group is still using Google Spreadsheets to share post and income stats. I’ve also used Google Spreadsheets for a couple other quick and rough spreadsheets. I still prefer the power of Excel for bigger, more involved spreadsheets. I’m not a pro spreadsheet user by any stretch, but I don’t think Microsoft has anything to worry about here any time soon.
