Watch Path to 9/11 in your browser free from ABC |

Sunday night’s three hour Part 1 of the controversial Path to 911 can be watched for free at ABC.com (Windows only, unfortunately). Worth repeating, I like how networks are providing some of their content online, even though it’s not as good looking as watching on an HDTV in full screen glory, it fills a gap for those — however small a minority we are — without TV (day 83, woohoo!).
While doing my morning reading, I’m checking this out in another Firefox browser window. It uses a special player powered by Move Networks, that seemed to be more than a little flaky. I had to refresh a few times to get to play and pausing the picture created all kinds of bizarre behavior (browser freeze and lockup). Maybe the Firefox extension isn’t fully baked?
The movie starts with a 10 second disclaimer that reads (all CAPS is the way it shows up, sorry, but emphasis mine):
DUE TO SUBJECT MATTER, VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.THE FOLLOWING MOVIE IS A DRAMATIZATION THAT IS DRAWN FROM A VARIETY OF SOURCES INCLUDING THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT AND OTHER PUBLISHED MATERIALS, AND FROM PERSONAL INTERVIEWS. THIS MOVIE IS NOT A DOCUMENTARY.
FOR DRAMATIC AND NARRATIVE PURPOSES, THE MOVIE CONTAINS FICTIONALIZED SCENES, COMPOSITE AND REPRESENTATIVE CHARACTERS AND DIALOGUE, AS WELL AS TIME COMPRESSION.
There we go, just like every other non-fiction event that has been dramatized through the years, the movie contains fictionalized scenes. Fake. Made up. Fantasy. As mentioned Friday with all of these supposedly ‘based on’ pictures, a disclaimer shouldn’t even be necessary these days, but there, now we’ve been told officially that this portrayal is not exactly what really happened.
Something tells me the criticism over the fake elements isn’t over. Part 2 airs tonight. I don’t know if that too will be made available on ABC website or not.

Only for people in USA as always, but use a proxy located in USA and you can watch it.
Wonder when companies shall learn that if you put stuff on the internet, make it available to all!
Not just a small group like USA (compared to the World that is).
