Watch first act of Simpsons 19th season opener for free on Fox before it airs |

It starts with a Burger King ad and then rolls into the first act season opener of the runaway hit Simpsons.
The episode starts with Lisa breaking Otto the bus driver’s cassette player (talk about old school) and him being forced to endure childhood songs on the bus. And then Otto sees Metallica alongside the road. Hilarity ensues, Simpsons-style.
And wait! It’s not over after the first act, there is some behind the scenes pencil drawings [6:55]. DVD filler, drool: “4300 hours the final inked and colored project is ready to air.” 4300 hours / 24 = 179.16 days.
A future in the making of web priority?
I like what Fox is doing with their shows and sharing on the web. Could this be the start of a new trend where it’s possible someday to watch entire episodes — complete with ads — before they air on network TV?
This membership strategy has worked for some sites like Slashdot where you can be among the first to see new stories being seeded. Maybe this would be a viable way to charge for TV shows on the internet. They probably will only use this as an extended commericial.
Did this post make you go hmm?
