Steve Irwin was a great man. He loved his family and he loved life itself to the fullest. While I am heartbroken for him and his family, especially the children, I take comfort in the fact that he died doing what he loved most. I never knew Steve Irwin. I only watched him on Animal Planet yet he and his message touched my heart. I have nothing but the utmost respect and love for the man who helped us all understand just how important conservation of wildlife and all animal life is to all of us. God Bless you Steve. May you find a new animal kingdom to explore in Heaven. My prayers are with you, your wife, and your two beautiful children.

Natalie - from what I just saw, nothing but a bunch of leeches claiming to have that video footage on YouTube. I’m sure the real footage will get there eventually, but so far it’s not there as of this comment anyway.

i thinks its just awful about what happened to Steve. i loved his show. its such a shame about what happened. yeah i know i didnt *know* him but from all the years i watched him on t.v it was as if i was loosing someone dear to me. i was able to see the footage of him dying on youtube.com but i dont recommend you watch it. it is plainly disturbing and just horrible.

So damn sad. This guy will be a Legend and he fought all his life to make people more aware of wildlife conservation. He will always be remembered.

I just wonder what would have happened if Steve hadnt yanked the barb out. Could he possibly have survived? It was only natural for him to immediately yank it out–thats the reaction most humans would have.

My 7 year old daughter sadly misses Steve ,, she had to watch the show everytime is was on and the whole family loved his shows to but it really upset my 7 year old daughter ,, she wanted to send his wife and kids a card and flowers.. We have been praying for his family..

well i actually dont think that the picture looks like a sting ray. it looks like a blob. steve irwin was like the coolest guy ever. he had a lot more balls then anyone.
