It is a long long drive every day. I don't really look at it as a waste of time though. I found a good way to make it productive (see signature link). I posted all the ways I blow the time there. We moved a considerable distance from Boston in order to afford a condo. I try to use the time productively, but it still has a huge impact on my quality of life. You never really escape work if it’s out of your home and also I like seeing people on a regular basis doing face to face business.- And the above is exactly why I like being in an office.....it drove me crazy working from home, because I never could really get away from work....for example, if I would think of something work-related at 2am when I couldn't sleep, I would get up and take care of it, check email, and before I knew it, I had been up and working for 3 more hours... Love it, love it, love it. Side note - worked out of my home for about a year, and hated it....I like being around people too much, as I discovered, and had a hard time with the fact that I had to leave my house, to leave work!
