Breaking into Prison Break |

I missed following the whole first season of the Fox phenomenon Prison Break. I didn’t catch most of 24 either and need to catch that on DVD. Recently, we picked up the Prison Break Season One DVD and I just finished watching the entire first season. The plot is intriguing: a guy who commits a crime to get into prison where his brother is about to be executed on death row and a plan to break him out. The pacing is somewhat reminiscent of 24 in that each episode is a continuation of the story although Prison Break isn’t as fast paced. Fox shines in these type of dramas and also in over the top reality shows.
Fox also made it so we could watch the debut episode of Prison Break Season 2 on their website, which we did a few nights back on our laptop in full screen. The video was grainy and pixelated and certainly not an HDTV viewing experience, but we didn’t mind. Since we do not currently have TV by choice for 68 days, our only way to get these new shows will be either to watch them online as released by the studio or via the online legal TV/movie services. It seems more of the studios are realizing that there are families out here without a TV signal.
I’ve been thinking about an over the air antenna. This would mean at least we could get the local TV channels. And it wouldn’t cost any money either. It’s NFL which I’ve mentioned before would be my weakest point, is starting to wear me down. Regular season starts in two weeks. Doesn’t seem like there will be any sort of web-related NFL TV alternatilve. I can get a radio pass on NFL.com, but baseball in radio works better for me than football.
