  1. Thanks for the mention, TD. What’s your listenership these days?

  2. Hmmcast is currently averaging 100 downloads per week per show. According to Feedburner, an average of 40+ are subscribed to the RSS feed (I should probably put up one of those Feedburner chicklets on the Hmmcast category page). The most download activity is coming from iTunes. Not sure if people like the show or not really as external feedback thus far has been limited.

It is serving multiple purposes though even if it isn’t a big hit with readers. The primary reason for doing this podcast is to provide a short recap to the content each week so when something is put together at the end of the year it will be much easier and less time consuming to compile. Also for readers who take vacation or go away to listen and get caught up with some of the more key happenings and posts quickly. The main news and highlight posts will already be there and easier to search through then the entire year’s worth of posts. It’s an organizational thing as much as an entertainment thing.

I am curious though to see what people think of the enhancements that are coming soon. Maybe as early as next week, but no promises.

What do you think about Hmmcast, has it held your interest so far? Do you look forward to it or is it just another post? Is the length too short? Too long? Boring? Interesting? Does it do a good/decent/fair job of representing what has happened over the course of the week? Any suggestions you can offer to improve it?

  3. The length is good, right around 10 minutes. The best part for a visual person like me is the way you lay out the links at the top, followed by the news headlines. Makes a good outline for the show and helps hold my interest.

However, I haven’t been completely sold on audio podcasts yet, even though I try to catch yours each week. It’s interesting to hear this in your own voice, but text is a lot quicker for me. Now if you also had video that added entertaining or informative visual content to the sound, I think that would interest me more. I guess I really am visually oriented.

I am curious to see what the “enhancements” will be. Rock on, Dude.

  4. Dont you think \” FIFA penalizes World Cup headbutter with community service\” is no more a news now. Its so many days the World Cup has been over and i liked that penalty kicks better than the golden goals atleast……….the event undoubtedly made a history but its not this weeks news. So…………..that surely not created any interest in me. Nways, thanx for the links.
