MakeYouGoHmm Virtual Stock Exchange Week #8: 175 days left |
Thanks to 2006 MakeYouGoHmm Virtual Stock Exchange player Lestat (5th place as of this writing on leaderboard) for reminding me about the new hover over real time stock info. I’m usually not a big fan of mouse onhover popup stuff, but in some cases it can be useful like this:

Now, during trading hours whenever players want to follow the real time activity of the stocks in their portfolio it’s as easy as navigating to the “my portfolio” link along the left hand column and moving the mouse over the stock name.
175 days to go

Did this post make you go hmm?

I just want to remind people that the price isn’t real time; it’s delayed by 20 mins and so is your transection. Which could potentially mean that your execution price is 40 mins delayed from the price you saw when ordering. This is a huge difference if your trading a day to day basis, but doesn’t affect long term/value investors, which is what you should aim for(like buffett).

The price when you hover over it is real time, Gatsby. You can watch it fluctuate every couple seconds. Hover over Google in my profile, for example. You are correct about the posted price on the somewhat static pages and the actual trades, but then it already says that when you go to make a trade.
