IntelliMeter resets parking meter when car moves |

Just what every parking space needs: a meter that uses sonar to detect when a car moves and then resets the money in the meter. Via company IntelliPark comes IntelliMeter:
suite of products and services provides critical management information that empowers parking professionals to increase revenue, improve enforcement and reduce operating costs.
No built-in WiFi? Along with the parking space, you’d think you could at least check the sports scores, news and weather (joking).
Unless you live in Reading, Pennsylvania this won’t mean a lot to you, but who knows if these will be the parking meters of the future?
Thanks Seattle PI.
Update 4:11am PST: Sort of parking-related, check out this video below with a bot that parks a beamer. The moving rear-view mirrors are a nice touch.

I have heard of these, and apparently our city has ordered them. We already pay $4 an hour, so this will make things worse.

Oh great, so now they not only get to rob you by charging ridiculous amounts to park your car, they also get to rob the next person for the time that’s already been paid for. Ah, government, how I loathe you.
