Aykroyd unplugged on UFOs |
While perusing the new movie rack at Hollywood Video tonight I was surprised to see a Whitley Striber moment coming from none other than that former Conehead, Dan Aykroyd with: Dan Aykroyd Unplugged on UFOs.
The back of box blurb offers the following teaser:
And finally explore Aykroyd’s personal views on UFOs, extraterrestrials, quantum physics and the age old question … ARE WE ALONE?
I’m just dying to know what one half of the Blues Brothers thinks about quantum physics. No, really, is Aykroyd scraping the barrel here or what? He’s not Stephen Hawking. This is not a comedy, despite me putting this in the “humor” category. I’ll have to come back and update this entry as to whether or not it sucks after seeing it later.
Update 5/31/2006 10:50am PST: Dan Aykroyd, overweight and still smoking, actually does a pretty decent job here. I liked this more than Date Movie, which isn’t saying much. For Dan’s sake, he should worry more about stripping some pounds, quit smoking or both then whether or not aliens are walking among us. This is a very odd rental. If you are interested in UFOs you will want to check it out even if the presence of a comedian seems absurd.

I know, he did put on quite a few pounds. I ended up renting this from netflix when I had a subscription, it wasn’t bad. He just bascially goes over all the video and picture evidence, talks about it, then raps up a notion why the Aliens might be visiting us. He goes in pretty good detail too. The one thing I remember from the video is when he said he might of saw one of the so called “Men in Black.” From what I remember he was doing a show on UFOs and Aliens. He saw a man across the street looking at him, Dan looked away, he looked back at the man and he was gone. I’m kind of skeptic, because anyone who sees Dan Akroyd they are going to gawk at him, ya know? But Dan said the man stood out, he looked like he was driving a government vehicle and dressed in a black suit. All in all it was a great DVD, I’m going to have to buy it when I get chance.
