del.icio.us feature request: English only or translation option

blogs and podcasting, travel — by TDavid @ 10:22 am PST

I’ve noticed more of the del.icio.us popular list lately having foreign languages in them. Good to see that others from all around the world are creating popular things, but from a skimming perspective I have no idea what the following means when I come across headlines like this:

It would be useful if Yahoo would provide translated headlines or English only option for the del.icio.us popular RSS feed. Does a hack/plugin/mod exist to provide this functionality that I’m unaware of? Maybe a Firefox translation extension which doesn’t require the user to determine what the source language is to translate? That’s something I’ve never really understood about some translation programs. If the person doesn’t know what the text says, how do they know what language it is written in? Sometimes, yes, but in the example above I would guess that it’s Japanese. It could be chinese though. I don’t know what it is.

Did this post make you go hmm?
