List of web-related conferences for 2006 |
Richard points to a list of web/media conferences for the rest of 2006 compiled by Eric Weaver:
I searched the web for a list of conferences somewhat related to Web 2.0 or Marketing 2.0 - you know, podcasting, RSS, biz blogging, and maybe even a branding conference or two - but I haven’t really found any seriously comprehensive list other than a few mentions in passing blog entries. So here’s my little contribution to the Blogosphere, for what it’s worth.
Thanks Eric. Would be even cooler to see this put into a table or dumped into a calendar format that can be imported. Please feel free to link up a list like that in the comments/trackback area below if/when such an animal exists.
Expensive conferences - for those with money/expenses to burn
June 19-22: Collaborative Technologies Conference at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA with $1495-2295.
June 21-23: Supernova in San Francisco, $595 for workshops, $2,495 for full conference
July 25-27: Always-on Innovation Summit at Stanford University in CA, $1875-$2500
August 29-30: Blogs, Wikis & RSS AU$1,995+ ($1,592+ USD) in Sydney, AU
Conferences of note under $300
June 10-11: Vloggercon $60 at the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco. Although I don’t do much vlogging, I’m interested in learning more. Amanda Congdon from (the most popular?) vlog Rocketboom will be speaking, among others. I mentioned this one to my wife.
June 23-24: Bloggercon at “venue unknown” in San Franciso, CA. $100
July 14-16: Women’s International Podcasting Expo, $20-25, an online virtual event. Details at internationalpodcastingexpo.com and also October 20-22, 2006
July 28-29: Blogher, $258.97, at Hyatt San Jose, CA
September 29-30: Podcast & Portable Media Expo at Ontario Convention Center, Ontario Canada, $199
Any readers planning on attending one or more of these conferences? The list is incomplete in terms of virtual conferences, at least. Today in Second Life, for example, is day #2 of barcamp Second Life (free). I’ll be there for at least some of that event which starts at 9am PDT/SL time and one of our group will be blogging about it at VTOR.

Thanks for the mention of the Podcast & Portable Media Expo. But actually the event is in Ontario, California. Easy mistake I have to explain almost daily. (Who in the world decides to name a city the same as a Canadian province??)
