Hmm quickies #26 |
Collected over the last couple days:
- Skype is offering free calls via SkypeOUT to landline and cell phones in the US/Canada … only to those in the US or Canada. Sucks for international callers, but hey, it’s a start. I haven’t renewed my SkypeIN with voicemail yet, BTW.
- TechCrunch Mike Arrington gives clinic on how not to hire a web designer and implement a new design.
- enhanced blogging support in OneNote 2007 with Word 2007
- Nintendo’s nextgen gaming console Wii is pronounced ‘wee’ not ‘why’ — Digg links why here courtesy of Nintento President.
- Just the other day I was wondering what happened to Bladam (Adam Lasnik) and turns out he’s now working for Matt Cutts at Google and will be some sort of web liason. Congrats on your new position, Adam.
- allofmp3.com closed for good? No, just just closed for maintenance
- play while you download coming later this month to Xbox Live, via pixelgamers:
We got confirmation from Boris Schneider-Johne that a huge Dashboard Update will arrive at the end of may! It will feature a download manager for 6 parallel downloads in the background. He also mentions that there will be a lot more features in there but it will be a surprise and he won’t talk about it! The downloads will also be running while a game is played.
Did this post make you go hmm?

Hi TDavid,
Yes, between my pre-new-job vacation and getting into the groove here at Google, my online presence was a bit sparse this year. Anyway, thanks for the welcome!
