Seems like Google day here at Hmm and I’d like to move onto other subjects, but I’m currently listening to the Google Press Day live stream and hearing some good juicy sound bites. Valleywag is live blogging the event. A few examples and I’m sure other quotes will emerge:

- when asked about why Google is worried about Microsoft making MSN the default search in Vista, Sergey Brin explained that they were concerned because “Microsoft is a convicted monopolist.”
- Will Google News include ads eventually? It’s not “high enough on their list” at this time. Sounds like it’s coming as soon as they can find some creative way to do it.
- Larry responded to the question: “how can we tell you are not evil?” by saying that they have a brand to protect so there would be no incentive for them to be evil. Furtheremore he pointed to watch companies that don’t have such a public presence.

If you see this in time, are curious about Google, then might want to load up the stream while you are working. Hopefully an archive of this press day will be made available.
