$4 per gallon for gas this summer, say some experts |
While getting caught up on the news/reading, I just heard on KIRO710 radio that some experts are saying gas may get up to $4 per gallon this summer. Some quick Googling on the subject didn’t retrieve an article to link, so if somebody sees one please let me know in the comments/trackback where to link. Assuming this does indeed happen, four bones a gallon? Ouch. This subject gave me an instant and strong sense of de ja vus, followed by a quick Hmm blog search.

Last year, almost to the day, concerns about summer gas prices being driven up prompted this post and GasBuddy review: Find Cheaper Gas Prices In Your Area.
ABC News asks: Are High Gas Prices Altering Your Vacation plans? In our family: yes. We have been taking an extended family vacation the end of June, first part of July the last few years. This year we are cutting back on the length and scope of the planned vacation. We still intend to drive, but may change that with a train trip instead. What about your family? Will you be cutting back? It’s a good question that ABC poses in light of the rising prices. The KIRO talk show host pointed out that if the demand wasn’t there, the prices wouldn’t rise.
BTW, for those running Yahoo Widgets (in the US anyway): GasBuddy Yahoo Widget might be handy for finding the best gas prices in your area.

Yep, I filled up with premium at 3.19/gal a couple of days ago in Poulsbo. I expect we’ll be driving to CA again sometime later this spring anyway. Still paying off the Chevron card for the last trip!
