Thank goodness the season just started. The 12 million dollar plus man, Adrian Beltre, is batting .167, the all time single season hits king Ichiro just started turning it on, but was sub .200 for awhile, and the current series has been the worst attendence of any game ever at Safeco field (17,927). I thought it looked a little bare in the cupboards on TV. Guardado is giving me some Bobbie Ayala memories, especially with the 11.12 ERA and after walking four batters in a row, including the go ahead run last night. The young phenom Hernandez hasn’t had a winning outing yet. Jamie Moyer? Argh. One of few bright spots is the new catcher, Johjima who is — or at least was — batting in the top 10 in the AL.

The Mariners are not off to a good start. Come on boys, strap it on and suck it up. I wonder if the low attendence can be attributed to the colder weather these last few nights (although last night’s attendence was around 30,000 so maybe it’s just a middle of the week thing), some other spring time factor or is indicative of fair weather fans starting to tire of the M’s losing? The Seattle PI has more.

Today our youngest teen, the birthday boy, is going to be in attendence. Let’s hope he brings the Mariners back their mojo against the Tigers.

  1. You said it. Too bad about last night — again (starting to sound like a bad marriage).
