		<description>Those are all good points, Nathan. I suppose like many other things this is a gray area. I just think sometimes it is nice to get a vacation (as a reader). This one might be good for a poll of one's individual readers. Would you like a guest blogger? A) yes, b) no, c) don't care and tally up the results.</description>

		<description>I think it has more to do with the type of blog than anything else.  If a news/industry blog, like Engadget, or TechCrunch, or even my own went on vacation, readers deserve a guest blogger, since they rely on the blog for the latest news.  But if the readers come to the blog not for coverage, but the blogger, like this one, or Scoble, or Winer, then a guest blogger is a strange distraction.

There is one exception:  If the blogger makes a living off his blog, then even if it makes no sense with the personality of the blog, he should still hire a guest blogger.  Even if the styles clash, you have to feed your family.</description>
