Free directories to submit your podcast |
While enjoying a little holiday off time with the family today I went on a podcast submission binge, submitting Hmmcast to many podcast directories.

I kept the list below in case other podcasters might want an additional reference of places to submit. If you are thinking of starting a podcast, this page might be worth a bookmark.
No registration required
all podcasts - enter in only podcast RSS feed
getapodcast.com - podcast RSS feed only
gigadial - enter in podcast RSS feed to add
podcast alley - admin must approve
podcast.net - “brief approval process”
podcast fix
podcasting station - rss feed, category and subcategory
podcast directory - listing immediately after submission
pocketcasting - admin approval required, geared toward Pocket PC, registration optional
plazoo
podcast pup
podfeeder
The Pod Lounge
podnova
podscope - claims to be the only spoken word podcast search engine
idiotvox - “…can take up to 48 hours to appear”
loomia
Every Podcast
Yahoo podcasts - just add your podcast RSS feed. Something interesting I noticed with Yahoo is it picks up on audio and video files linked in blog posts and calls them podcasts. So instead of having three Hmmcasts as of this writing, it shows me as having seven.
podblaze - listed immediately after email validation
Vital Podcasts
Registration required
Amigofish - register and give 1-5 star ratings on podcasts. I like how they suggest rating each podcast:
5 - I love this and must listen as soon as I get it
4 - I like this show and am glad to get new episodes
3 - I can take this or leave it
2 - I don’t much like this and don’t plan on listening again
1 - I can’t finish an episode
BlogExplosion - admin must approve
podcastpickle - can add a main (audio) promo and two alternates, subscribe: ![]()
Digital Podcast - admin review
podcasting news - setup as a forum, after registration and adding link podcast appears immediately
podcast charts - registration required, they promise a “better listing” for those who provide a reciprocal link
How to find your iTunes feed ID
The only place I’d submitted Hmmcast prior to this was iTunes. Podcasters looking for their iTunes feed ID can use the following tip via Jeff Greenwald:
Find your show in the directory. Go the the details page and right click (windows) or control click (Mac) on the show name - copy the iTunes URL. Use that in your hyperlinks.
Did I miss some good ones?
This list is by no means complete and I may update from time to time. If you own or know of other good places to submit that do not require recip links or are pay to play just use the comment area/trackback to tell us about it. “Good” of course is a subjective term, please no spam or podcasting marketing gimmick sites. And if any of the ones I’ve listed above as submitting to suck, then please tell me about that too.
