Copy and paste through the web |
I use synergy to manage copy/paste operations between computers on the local network, but what happens when I want to copy/paste/share something with my friend in Sweden? I have to send it to him via IM or email or upload to a webpage.
Now I have another option: use cl1p.net (argh, spelling). Lifehacker writes:
After you paste your text into cl1p (you can also upload files up to 2mb), you have the option to password protect the text. This means that although anyone can see your text, they can’t change it without a password. The point is, you can easily access the pasted text from any other computer, making it a simple way to copy and paste between computers.
The name withstanding — is that 1 or a lowercase L? — this works pretty slick. Good idea.
Did this post make you go hmm?

Too bad uploads are limited to one download. Definitely del.icio.us.

I think the downloads had to be limited to keep the site from turning into a file mirror. I think it’s interesting that people can lock but not hide any url they want. My concern wouldn’t really be that people change my info as that they would view my info…as with pastebin or rafb of course this usually isn’t an issue worth much paranoia. I wrote more about this at my blog.
