Renew your Costco membership before May 1 and buy a case of Tabasco sauce while at it

health and lifestyle, finance — by TDavid @ 10:15 am PST

Tabasco sauce is the best food spice on the planet

Looks like we’re going to have to renew our Costco membership before May 1 as the prices are going up, via The News Tribune

Fees will rise by $5 to $50 for individual or business memberships, starting May 1, Costco said this week.

Among a few other big quantity items, we like to buy the big Tabasco bottles there. Can get a whole case for like $100USD which works out to about $4 USD per big bottle. Some stores sell the tiny bottles for $3USD so this is a pretty good deal and alone worth the price of the Costco membership. Like my tie pictured above? And how many people do you know with their own branded Tabasco bottle? My wife bought that for me last Christmas along with the tie.

I really have to start a Tabasco fan blog one of these days. I would be willing to put my love for Tabasco sauce up there against any other Tabasco sauce hound on the planet. I can use one of those really tiny bottles in a single meal. Remember, it’s good for you and only contains three ingredients: red pepper, salt and vinegar. The other hot sauces are pretenders, not contenders. Man, I’m getting the cravings for Tabasco sauce on some eggs and hash browns as I write this right now.

Grumbling belly alert!

  1. Man, I love Tabasco. I could dump half of that big bottle on a pile of meat and eggs. Unfortunately for me, it’s now off my diet. I can’t handle the salt. If they ever come out with a salt-free version, let me know. Meanwhile, I just slice up two habaneros, a jalapeno, a red chili, and some ground cayenne on my breakfast every morning.
