Human time travel really possible before 2100? |
I hope I’m alive long enough to take a trip into the future. I’d like to see if we all are controlled by apes or have nuked the human race out of existence in a few hundred years.
via physorg:
… according to Einstein, whenever you do something to space, you also affect time. Twisting space causes time to be twisted, meaning you could theoretically walk through time as you walk through space.“As physicists, our experiments deal with subatomic particles,” said Mallett. “How soon humans will be able to time travel depends largely on the success of these experiments, which will take the better part of a decade. And depending on breakthroughs, technology, and funding, I believe that human time travel could happen this century.”
As for going into the past? Not much interest there, especially if Mallett’s theory is accurate about going back into a parallel universe and not the past that we know and are a part of exists.

If you don’t live long enough, TDavid, I’ll come back and pick you up.
Talk about serious culture shock — that would make the digital revolution look like flipping pancakes.
