Metallica + Beatles mashup = Beatallica

music — by TDavid @ 4:06 pm PST

I bet Warlock has heard the band Beatallica which mashes up the Beatles music with Metallica. Surprisingly, the band Metallica seems to be behind this effort but Sony, which represents the Beatles catalog did send Beatallica a cease and desist in February 2005, which they seem to have backed off from.

Beatallica isn’t selling any CDs yet, trying to get licensing setup for that it seems, instead releasing all their music under Creative Commons license.

We recorded the show that night, and you can actually download two of the tracks from that historic Cleveland meeting on their music page…ha

  2. I don’t know, Beattles to Metallica doesn’t seem like such a stretch to me. Helter Skelter, She’s So Heavy, Everybody’s Got Something to Hide…, Come Together, etc. pretty much laid the groundwork for the popularization of heavy metal. Seems sort of like Mozart plays Haydn. You want to be creative? Try mashing up Nirvana and Sinatra — Sinvana, Nirvatra, … Strangers in the night, exchanging bite wounds…
