Developer opportunity with Myntz |
On October 22, 2004, I unofficially declared Myntz as the breath mint of choice for bloggers. Of course that designation is merely from one of their fans, but I really dug these mints and the fact that dentists like them. It seems they are having trouble getting retailers to stock them.
One of my criticisms at the time was about how Flash-oriented the Myntz website was and it turns out my concerns back then were warranted.
CEO of Myntz, David Parker, describes their web developer woes:
As to the web site, I am totally frustrated with that. The guy that designed it and implemented it has disappeared and we can’t track him down. We don’t know how to get on the site and change anything, like the available store section. We were in all of those stores at one time, but we have lost distribution because of what I said above. Our site store sales have gone way up as Myntz! became harder to find in retail stores. But we have to figure out a way to get into the site and make adjustments, or scrap the site and start over.
Too bad pretty much all my development time is spoken for or I’d consider contacting Mr. Parker and seeing this opportunity through. They have created and manufactured a great product which is 90% of the battle, now they need some good web help making a better webstore and distribution presence. Their site could benefit from a blog telling people where to find their products and helping to cross promote the retailers that offer them. Maybe they should look at Google Base, eBay and some other online stores, if they aren’t already for distribution?
Just so it’s clear, I have no affiliation with Myntz and simply blogged about them in 2004 and thought it was neat that the CEO would personally stop by and thank me for the patronage. I can get behind helping companies like these. Maybe this post will generate somebody that has the time to help them make a better website and presence. I’d love to blog about their success in the future.
In addition to sites like Monster or Dice, there are work opportunities in the archives of blogs.
Did this post make you go hmm?
