7 things to do in ink online

Tablet PC — by TDavid @ 12:07 pm PST

I’ve been keeping this list of things to do with ink online and it’s time to kick it out to others. This will be updated from time to time so possibly worth a bookmark if you are interested in inking with your Tablet PC across the web.

1. Ink blogging at Tablet PC Blogs
2. Create ink forum signatures at Tablet PC Buzz and elsewhere.
3. Imagintion Cubed - collaborative ink sharing from the wizards at GE.
4. Stripcreator - create your own characters in ink and then submit them to Stripcreator and others can make cartoons out of them.
5. SearchTip - MSN Search via ink right inside your browser thanks to Loren Heiny.
6. Scribblerbot - make a few lines and let the scribbler bot complete your drawing.
7. Sketch Swap - got an idea, draw it, then hit submit and be returned ink from somebody else anonymously right in your browser.

This list is incomplete and you can help change that. Please share other ink integrated websites and your thoughts about them below.

  1. TDavid’s List of 7 Things To Do In Ink On-line

TDavid always seems to come up with another source to work or play in INK on-line. Now he’s compiled a list of 7 sites where the pen is mightier than the keyboard. Checkout his list and check them out here.

  2. I don’t get the whole ink craze. Even though I never learned to type properly (see http://www.chipstips.com/microblog/index.php/post/37/), my handwriting is far worse. When I sign something, I’m often asked if I’m a doctor. I was relieved to start on-line banking — no more writing checks. I can understand using a pen for editorial work like circling and X-ing, maybe cutting and pasting, and especially drawing — but when it comes to text, all I ask is a keyboard and a star to steer her by.

  3. Ink is still superior for notetaking, annotation and click and dragging objects around. I can write faster than I type and Microsoft’s ink recognition, though not outstanding, is pretty darn good at making out my chicken scratches. I think completely ink-driven websites online remain fertile ground for development and promotion. There just aren’t that many out there for this niche. This is among the long list of things I’d like to spend more time exploring.
