Want to help out?

I’ve been working on something that will be shared with the world soon and, along with other blogging platforms, I want to make sure it works good with MovableType and TypePad blogs. Since we don’t currently use either of these platforms, I’d like to run some final tests with bloggers regularly using current versions.

We need to be able to burn some test posts (draft and live) and I will need to have enough permissions in TypePad and MovableType so that I can write step-by-step setup instructions along with detailed screenshots on how everything is setup in the admin area of these two programs.

I will probably need 1-2 weeks access max and disruption to your live blog should be minimal. I will be blogging these instructions and those who help test will get some advance notice of when this is being publically released (soon, hopefully) so they can blog about it too, if they want.

If you are interested in helping out with this then put your name in the comments below and I’ll be contacting you in the next few days privately by the email you leave (all emails are not shown on the website). We only need a few folks so if a bunch of people offer to help please don’t be upset if I only take the first few. If nobody wants to help out then I know a few TypePad and MovableType bloggers I can contact directly or we’ll just setup test accounts on our own. I just thought this might be nice to offer Hmm blogger readers for a change. I don’t recall ever asking for any beta testing help here before, so this could be a first.

Just so it’s clear: the public beta launch which is coming soon won’t be some private invite-only beta, it will be open to everybody who is interested.

As far as time required from you? Not much time will be required except giving me admin access to your blog and trusting me for a week or two. If you don’t know how to do that in these two programs then you probably don’t want to offer to help on this one.
