Carded at Best Buy for PSP game |
I don’t mind getting carded but it’s a somewhat noteworthy event considering it is the first time it has happened in many years (other than for standard ID checks, of course). Add to that the fact that I am old enough to be the girl’s father (relax, she was just doing her job) and it makes the event more humorous. What was I carded for, alcohol? Nope. Cigarettes? Nope, haven’t smoked for like 20 years. The answer: I was freaking carded for Joust!

Ok, that’s exaggerating. The collection of Midway Arcade Treasures Extended Play (affiliate) includes Mortal Kombat, MK 2 and MK 3 with those gory fatality moves which made the package land the overall Mature 17 rating. So it wasn’t Joust or Klax (also on the collection) but it seems more funny saying I was carded for Joust. Or maybe Paperboy. Or how about Marble Madness? Yeah, that marble action is really adult.
Seriously, there is an impressive list of Midway games on this list with the following single player titles:
Spy Hunter, Sinistar, Defender, Paperboy, 720
And even more multi-player titles:
KLAX, Joust, Marble Madness, Toobin, Rampage, Gauntlet, Rampart, Wizard of Wor, Xybots, Championship Sprint, Arch Rivals, Cyberball 2072, Xenophobe, Mortal Kombat, MK 2 and MK 3.
A total of 22 games for 30 bucks. And yes, I do know one could use MAME and go the illegal route, but that’s not for me. I don’t mind paying because several of these titles took a lot more than a few quarters when they were in the arcade.
My favorite games for the PSP include Gottlieb’s Pinball Hall of Fame, Namco’s Museum, this one, and Lumines. What are your favorite games for the PSP?
Did this post make you go hmm?

Looks like a lot of fun. I love Paperboy! I don’t have a PSP, so I can’t answer your question, but I do enjoy all the old classics. My favorite is from Atari, a little fun game called Journey Escape, where you try to get the guys from Journey safely into their limo. Cheesy? Heck yes, but still lots of fun.
