Before reading Dave's blog entry about this today and well before reading this one, I checked out the Web Clips feature. It has been there a while on my gMail... some early adopter thing, I guess. It is definitely not a newsreaderin the best sense. It is really an "attention" thing, that you notice once in a while when you see an interesting artcile scroll by. Generally I ignore it. Sometimes I'll see an enGadget or NYT link that looks intereting. But, I must agree that I don't care whether Google calls it Web Clips, RSS Reader, or GatorChomperAtomSmasher. It's a feature that in its current incarnation, I wouldn't miss terribly.

- Dave needs to take another chill pill. Life's too short for such petty whining.
- I don't find the Web Clips to be useful at all, but they're occasionally interesting or entertaining.

Since it's just one line, I'll probably not bother turning it off. If it took up any more space, though, I'd disable it in a jiffy.
