200+ Xbox backwards compatible games list published |
Loading ...Only 9 days until the keys to the Xbox 360 kingdom are presented to gamers and Microsoft has published a list of backwards compatible Xbox titles.
Today, at last, Microsoft opened up about which Xbox titles you’ll actually be able to play on Xbox 360. Along with a compatibility Q&A on the official site, Microsoft released an initial list of Xbox games confirmed to be compatible — more than 200 already.
We cross referenced and learned that 31 of our 40 odd Xbox games will not work with Xbox 360 at launch. That’s a dismal 7.8%. Here’s the list (yeah, some of these I’m embarassed to say we bought):

I put an asterisk besides the titles where I was particularly disappointed. Microsoft does promise to keep increasing the list of backwards compatible titles.
[…] Doesn’t sound like Jake is going to be springing for the 360 at launch. I hear what he is saying about backwards compatibility but he is doing better with 39% compatibility compared to our abysmal 7.8%. I don’t have much in the way of saved game data so this isn’t a big deal for me, but our middle son plays all the time so I’ll have to see how he feels about this one. I’m sure it won’t kill his momentum for (hopefully) getting the 360 next Tuesday. […]
