Got first peek at Xbox 360 in game action tonight |
If you are near the Puyallup, Washington Best Buy store, you can go see what I saw a little bit ago. It was an Xbox 360 station at the end of the aisle seductively drawing in gamers. No, I didn’t see if the power supply was a brick or not … because that was secreted behind the console. Above the Xbox 360 sitting upright was a crystal clear LCD monitor (or was it plasma, not sure but it looked extremely sharp). I didn’t get to play the game but watched it being played for a good long five minutes or so. I might go up there tomorrow at lunch time and try to sneak in a few minutes of gameplay. Perhaps I’ll bring my camera this time and take some pics.

The game: Call to Arms 2 is one of the launch titles. Yeah, a sequel, you’ve probably already heard me complain about wishing there wasn’t so many sequels. Don’t think we’ll be getting Arms 2, though DOA 4 is looking real good to be one of the titles, I think. Did the game totally blow me away? Not really, no. About what I expected but certainly more exciting than what I saw of the Windows and Office Live. I definitely am a little more stoked about the November 22 xbox 360 launch, so in that sense the demo unit worked.
This morning, I spent a little time this morning combing over the new Xbox forums and tested the waters with other Launch Day Hunters. goverland has a good post with lots of Xbox 360 details particularly on what happens with existing Xbox Live subs:
Here’s the scoop. When you get your Xbox 360, you’re going to select ‘recover your Xbox Live gamertag’. It’ll ask for your gamertag, then your passport member name and password. There’s a couple of pages to make sure your info is all good and then your home free! Your current remaining subscription will automatically migrate over into an Xbox Live Gold account once Xbox 360 launches.
21 days to game time!

I’ve been playing it at walmart for the past few days it rocks. Now there is a line at lunch time which sucks. I can’t wait until I get my preordered unit.
