I've tried both FilmLoop and Slide and I must say that FilmLoop has soome very nice functionality that Slide is lacking.

You can easily link files to your website, gallery, or any site that you wish. This makes slide a great tool for promotion and, as an artist/illustrator/designer I am always looking for incidental exposure [which is the catagory that I would put the FilmLoop & Slide networks in]. Slide is very much lacking in this feature although the stand alone website player is very nice.

Slide is slick, no doubt about it. But I think I'll stay with FilmLoop.

Have you give Slide a whirl? Similar but also supports RSS and has web support. You can make channels out of photos, videos, music and sites (almost anything actually). There is also IMing of objects and channels built in. Its a hybrid desktop/Web product like Google Desktop Search. No OPML yet but looking at that.
